(c) the 2012 Wilson/Fripp mix on CD and DVD-A and (b) the 2012 original mix LP reissue, if my copy was simply a dud, but I'm wary of that one In Japan, where I am, Lark's Tongues in Aspic isn't on the streaming services, so I can't listen to the Wilson remix, so have no way of seeing if I prefer that to the original or not. Not interested in the 5.1 mix, as I think I'll never have a 5.1 set-up (Mrs Geordiepete would never OK it!), but the hi-res PCM stereo on the DVD-A sounds promising. I'm looking at the Steve Wilson remix on vinyl and also the 40th anniversary Wilson remix on CD and DVD-A. I've ruled, as as too expensive for me, the 15-disc box set. I think the music is beautiful and I want great sound quality and a great mix. So, I'm looking for advice on which edition to buy as a replacement. Was that a rare copy or is the 2012 reissue a bad pressing? Still crackles all over! Regrettably, I sent it back and expect a refund when it's received. I cleaned it three or four times with a new Audio-Technica felt brush and their cleaning fluid and also spritzed some distilled water with 15% ethanol on it and let it lie for 10 minutes before wiping it off with the felt brush. I was happy to get the DGM 2012 LP reissue of the original stereo mix of Lark's Tongues in Aspic, but it's filled with crackles! It was bought new.
